Hello, everyone! Allow myself to introduce – well, myself. The name is Chris ‘Shades’ Oliveri – aka ‘Shades The Socialite.’ But you may just call me Chris Shades, or just ‘Shades.’ Oh, “Shadesman” is fine, too!

I am what you would call a bit of a jack of all interests. I dance. I run. I ride the ocean waves like there’s no tomorrow. I’m into being cross-fit. I party it up! I produce stories, I write, produce videos, you name it! And even though I have proof of me tearing it up on the dancefloor on a weekly basis, I am actually straight-edge. And I’ll keep my age, for now, a secret. 😉
Anywho, besides the debauchery you’ll find on my facebook page – Chris Shades Oliveri – or at http://www.YouTube/ShadesTheSocialite, there is one spot that’s a favorite of mine that’s worth mention. Over the summer, there’s a little gem called The Boardy Barn, and boy is it a party! For those of you who don’t know what this Hamptons hotspot is, think a dance club thrust of of it’s nighttime roots and combined with a daytime carnival. Entry is 21+ of course, their music is a mixture of contemporary and retro trimmings, and they feature $1 BEERS!!!! And hot dogs and pizza, of all things!
There are a few rules (!) to keep in mind after you have to pay the $20 entrance fee. The lines may be LONG. I – being the time management expert I am – start off by pulling a P-Diddy and arriving just under TWO HOURS after the normal opening time of 4pm. When inside, no pouring beer on your fellows – you’ll get kicked, which involves a ritualistic game of the crowd SINGING to the kickee “Aaaas-hoooole… Aaaas-hoooole,” because, for the most part, people AVOID acting like jerks here and their ‘happiest place on Earth’ mantra holds true as you WILL meet a lot of people and make new friends easily.
One thing I DON’T get, however, is how come people wear sandals to what’s also a very MESSY place? I understand the level of dress there is super-casual, but the sandal is the most hazardous of shoes – you are, like, 94% more likely to stud your tow in a sandal than while barefoot. So, when dancing at the Boardy Barn, the remember that the floors are crazy-dirty… so my rule is:
SHAKE… don’t BREAK.
They open their doors again in June 2014 – DON’T MISS IT!!!! 😀
